Choosing the Disciplined Way over the Frivolous Way

I just submitted an article to an education publication in which I briefly mention a Minnesota home scholar turned lawyer. Last month Micah Stanley, age 19, learned that he had passed the California general bar exam. He was a student at Oak Brook College of Law who started his legal studies at age 14!

A TV station got in on the fun and interviewed the well-spoken, newly minted attorney who says, "As I was going through law school, there weren't many sacrifices that I had to make ... But those that I did, it was just trading the temporary for the more permanent, in the future. I don't have any regrets."

Micah told me that, for now, he is staying put in Minnesota and is currently finishing up a self-help book: "How to Escape the Holding Tank: A Guide to Help You Get What You Want You Get."

Given what he's pulled off, it could very well become a bestseller. Legal kudos to Micah and his supportive family.
