Although I don't agree with his support of the g-school culture (duh!), I give Dr. Bill Cosby extra credit for his boldness in promoting the life of the mind. He spoke at a Massachusetts school (not far from his lovely home up in the hills of Shelburne Falls) and encouraged a tough crowd - urban teens - to pursue discipline via the study of algebra.
