An interview with author Beverly K. Eakman who shares about her experience with the 'Bubble Boy.'
As for education, Americans, remarks Beverly, are slavishly devoted to the shallow, " ... schooling has become intertwined with pop culture. 'Everyone' sends a child to school — don’t they? And all of the hullabaloo like popularity, cliques, football and fluff that goes along with public schooling."
Couple of quibbles: Easy-degree factories, known as schools of education, deserve to be thoroughly bulldozed not reformed. Lubbock, Texas (where Texas Tech is located and where Buddy Holly was born) isn't "hicksville." It's been a largish city for awhile.
