The latest: "The bill passed both the (Florida) House Education Council and the Senate Committee on Children and Families.
However, screening kids has been completely gutted from the bill. No screening of children will occur under this bill (without the written consent of a parent or legal guardian).
What the bill now says is that SOS can send out information to parents about suicide and depression so parents can watch for the 'signs of suicide.' It's not over yet, but progress has been made."
