Update 31: Only 5-11, this young man is a fantastic hoops player. He has 6 brothers and 7 sisters, and, yes, one wonders what some of the other children are named.
Update 32: Barb passed along this article which notes various reactions to the John Stossel education show. Pretty alarming when a slew of Baptists can be as outraged, for the same reasons, as the union of teachers.
Update 33: Carol's blog has a sample of the 'Dortignac Family Singers.' You guys learned to sing that sweetly without participating in a (canned) music enrichment program?
Update 34: The littlest Lyman has a basketball game tomorrow (1-21) at his school at 7:30. I think he's starting. Several homeschoolers are coming to cheer for the Eagles. Yay! (Wid III pictured with teammate, T. J. Durham.)
Update 35: 'Mayor' Ozzie Guillen is such a character.
Update 36: Chad Allen and EOTS: This is a waggish but effective way to put it.
Update 37: One of the three urban school districts in Oklahoma that is asking the state lege, via a lawsuit, to adequately fund education is Jenks, as in expensive zip code. Brandon Dutcher points out that the school has artificial turf, and Jennifer Berry, the new Miss America, is an alum of Jenks High School. Guess they just gotta have more taxpayer moolah to keep churning out Div. 1 football players and big-time beauty pageant winners. Reputation, reputation, reputation.
Update 38: In the Best of the Blogs contest/education category, a homeschooler is in the lead. Voting ends on Jan. 30.
Update 39: Aloysius Pendergast rates a Wikipedia entry!
Update 40: Hope you don't mind, but I may keep doing the 'update' pattern till I reach 100.
