Siena College, in upstate New York, is a school my son, Dan, attended for a couple of years. He even did a stint on the college's ice hockey team. Thus, this common-sense commentary - which mentions Siena profs and fateful moments in history - caught my attention. The essay visits a familiar dilemma: American students, who have lived too long in the cushy lane, have no historical sense. Apparently the entitlement mentality, stamped into the collective conscious of today's youngsters, has caused more than a few to believe they're living through a New Dark Ages. Weird.
