The Tesseract and The Final Act

As is my custom when I travel, I grab a copy of the local paper and eagerly scan the pages. On Tuesday, when I was in Maine and reading the Bangor Daily News, I learned that Madeleine L'Engle, the prolific author and Smith College grad, had died. She was 88.

Wrinkle in Time remains one of my favorite fantasy books and was part of our "curriculum." Such a strange tale, yet such a captivating one. Remember how much Meg disliked school?

This WaPo staffer also likes Miss Murry and Mrs. Whatsit.

Wheaton College is the caretaker of the L'Engle papers.
