The Homeschooling Revolution

July 02, 2007

A Synopsis Can Still Fire Up the Synapses

- My friend, Melanie Krumrey, homeschool headmistress to three pupils, has started an artful blog celebrating the gluten-free lifestyle. Stop by, and say "hey."(Photo of Mel and her daughter, Kayla.)

- Phil Maymin penned this kickin' piece about compulsory education. He opines, "Where was the due process that this September will put another estimated 50,000 Connecticut 5-year-old kids under school arrest for the next 13 years of their lives?" Read the whole thing, and circulate it.

- Math and Science Alert: Check out the Futures Channel. Bonus: A whole page devoted to Mr. Jaime Escalante.

- Understandably, the 12-year-old homeschool-prodigy at the U.S. Women's Open got noticed - alot.

- The home educated played a part in launching Conservapedia, but what's an "advanced" homeschooler? Is it the opposite of a retreatist homeschooler?
