Homeschoolers and Their Instruments

Fiddle-de-dee. Meet James Schlender, of Bozeman, Montana, who has been winning fiddling contests all over the US of A.

The young teen also plays the violin, guitar, and mandolin.

James also regularly practices. Working-out those fingers pays off in prize money.

Over in Minnesota, John Molitor does his magic with a piano. The White Bear Lake resident has also been selected as a National Merit Scholar. Nice photo, and the reporter's description of Joyce Molitor, John's mum, is fun: "John's teacher opened the door. She's also the school's principal, lunch lady and head janitor."

But don't tell this chap that's how Mrs. Molitor was described. He'd whine that she is probably "haggard" and "exhausted."
