This watchdog group has selected Montana Senator Don Ryan's SB 458 as a "very bad bill." Good call.
The essence from Bad Bill Bob: "Presently, Montana law requires homeschooling parents to notify the county superintendent that they are home educating their children. This bill would require notification PRIOR to the first week of July or else home education would not be allowed."
Sen. Ryan, chairman of the Senate Education and Cultural Resources Committee, has scheduled a hearing on the measure for Monday, February 19, at 3:00 p.m. in Room 303 of the capitol bldg. in Helena.
I'm assuming a rockin' turnout of annoyed, forthright homeschoolers will travel to Helena. Looking forward to reading about it on the "Internets."
