A pair of home scholars won a check and a certificate in the site's first student essay contest. Alexia Gilmore, executive director of Antiwar.com, delivers the details: "First place winner, junior division, Madeline Reese is homeschooled. She is 11 and lives in Oregon. Third place winner, junior division, Stephanie Augustine is also homeschooled. She is in 6th grade and lives in Pennsylvania. Also a number of non-winning entrants are homeschooled."
