The Homeschooling Revolution

November 01, 2006

Socialist Lawyuh vs. "Poor Uneducated Security Guard"*

As I've previously stated, Jason Murphey, homeschool grad, is on the verge of becoming a member of the Oklahoma legislature. After handily beating the incumbent in the primary, Jason has been campaigning on a platform of keeping government a lean machine.

In his life-away-from-politics, this young dad works two jobs and runs a web-design business. (Raleah, Mrs. Murphey, homeschools the couple's little boys.) Earlier this year, Jason was the recepient of a bachelor's degree, with honors, through Charter Oak State College.

So, you'd think that his Democratic opponent (one Thomas Cook) would empathize with Jason's multitasking given his own background. But, noooo. Cook has chosen to take the low road and misrepresent Jason's bio and his positions. For example, Cook writes that "as a home schooler he (Jason) believes NO tax dollars should go to education." Cook then falsely claims that Jason is opposed to education.

Given the shallowness of Cook's positions, it's evident the man can't fathom an electable candidate who is pro-education and pro-proper role of government. (But you'd think he'd have a clue since he taught government. Then, again, Cook taught the subject in the public schools. Such a tool!)

Bottom line: Hasta la vista, Lawyuh Cook. On Tuesday, Jason is going to pull off a Warwick Hornby.*

*Jason's self-deprecating self-description
*Youth slang for 'win an election by many votes.'

Update: Jason was unanimously endorsed by the Republican Liberty Caucus, as well as I.R.O.N..
