My opinion, now that I've returned to the Lower 48, remains unchanged. Anchorage, ladies and gents, is a splendid city. My list of "likes" has expanded to: laid-back cosmopolitan flavor, D-1 hockey, happening port, excellent infrastructure, youngish feel, physically active 4-legged and 2-legged residents, lively newspaper, state-of-the-art medical facilities, and views of Mount McKinley (or Denali). Homes, however, are pricey likely due to the fact that the Last Frontier's wetlands occupy 43.3% of the 403,247,700 acres.

Sarah Palin's supporters were out politicking right until the polls closed (She's Alaska's 42-year-old governor-elect.)
