The Homeschooling Revolution

November 06, 2006

BRRRRRRR

It's five degrees in Anchorage. Snow and ice and espresso shops galore and bike riders and vast views of the Pacific Ocean and mucho interest in Tuesday's election ... never a dull moment. The population in Anchorage is about 277,000, so the locals dub it "Los Anchorage."

Got out to Whittier, Alaska, a fishing village, which is the gateway to the Prince William Sound. Salmon and moose and sheep and bald eagles and glaciers ... never a dull moment. Annual average snowfall in Whittier is 240 inches.

How's this for a humbling headline from the Anchorage Daily News?

Fortunately, the UAA fans were patient and kind to the underdogs and didn't heckle. (Unlike the fans in Fairbanks.)

Probably be back (to blogging) later in the week.
