Bobby Bowden was the Seminole's head football coach when I attended Florida State, and, his age (and mine) is showing. After his son, Jeff Bowden (who worked for him as the offensive coordinator) resigned, Bobby B. attempted to defend his youngest son by blaming the Internet for the negative publicity Jeff received. But like Larry King, the Coach must be unfamiliar with the 'Net. He had this to say:
"Because you all ignited it," he said to a small room of reporters. "You listen to eBay and e-mail and all that junk, and you all kept writing about it and that fans it and makes it grow and grow, and it becomes a cancer. That's why."
