The Homeschooling Revolution

September 01, 2006

Southern Gentleman

I once interviewed journalist Jay Grelen, a homeschool dad of two daughters, for Homeschooling Today magazine. That was back in the days when the industrious Maureen McCaffrey was the publisher, and Jay, and his gracious wife, Cindi, lived in Oklahoma, and he wrote for the Daily Oklahoman.

The Grelens now live in the Razorback State where Jay works for the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette writing a thrice-weekly column known as “Sweet Tea." Happily, they remain a committed, home ed. family. Cindi even teaches literature and composition to other homeschoolers.

Here's a couple of items from Jay's pen:

On stalking the elusive Harper Lee.

An essay on Hurricane Katrina, and it's impact on residents of Mississippi.

Photo: Circa, 1995 from Mr. G's days as a writer for the Mobile Register.

Update: I forgot to mention that Jay-G is the author of this book.
