Those Duke lacrosse players must daily rue the day that they participated in a certain drinking party which included a certain exotic dancer who made certain serious accusations. Amazing how one's everyday life can change - in a blink - due to one or two boneheaded decisions.
While the athletes await their day in court, this former lax mom who is familiar with the temptations young men have to overcome, appreciates the politically-uncorrect commentary that's tried to make sense of the circus surrounding this legal drama.
First, is this column, by Attorney Stuart Taylor Jr., who compiles a nifty gallery of rogues.
Attorney Taylor also quotes from the Coleman report which notes, contrary to the stereotyping, that the lax team was a mix of " 'middle-class, suburban families,' with a few 'from both very wealthy and from working-class settings.'"
Next is Dr. Bill Anderson a professor and former Division One track guy. He isn't fond of Nifong, the DA (runaway district attorney?), the politicizing of rape, and the libertine college campus.
Finally, the Johnsville News provides punch, tough love, and names names.
Keep 'em coming, gentlemen, and may justice be done.
