Pick 11: Going to Disneyworld as a Millionaire

Last night, the Orlando Magic picked J.J. Redick during Round 1 of the NBA Draft. Since Jeanie Redick, J.J.'s mom, homeschooled him through the fifth grade, I'd consider this an athletic milestone of sorts for the home education movement.

ESPN described the Madison Square Garden crowd's fickle response to Redick: "As usual, the former Duke guard was greeted by a loud, mixed reaction. He drew boos when he was shown on the overhead TV screen, but eventually cheered after his pick was announced."

The limelight isn't for wimps.

Update: The Orlando Sentinel on the shooting magician.

Update 2: WaPo writer mentions the homeschooling.
