The Homeschooling Revolution

March 13, 2006

Redick-ulous

J.J., "our guy" in Div. 1 hoops with a homeschooling background, continues to perform, as Dickie Vitale would say, "super, scintillating, sensational, baby." A summary of what happened, yesterday, when Duke played Boston College for the ACC championship: "Redick finished the game with 26 points becoming the ACC Tournament's all-time leading scorer in the process and 15 of his points came on two separate flurries of triples in the second half."

This column, written by an Illinois student, is a tribute to Redick's ability to persevere despite the non-stop, public hostility he has had to endure. Worth a look even for those who deem jocks "overrated."

(The "Dee" in the article, for non-aficionados, is Dee Brown, one of college basketball's fastest guards.)
