Updt 104: The 8th Carnival of Homeschooling is up. The theme is J-school 101 . Expect to chuckle at the witty intro.
Updt. 105: Double congrats to the confident Shani Davis for his history-making speed skating feat and for not being the least bit reticent to credit his mom, Cherie, with achieving his goal. Now meet the other woman in Shani's life.
Updt. 106: Joe Balyeat, a state senator from Montana and homeschool dad, writes about Dick Cheney and sticks up for the hunting culture of the Big Sky state. I get his point, and, yes, indeed, responsible hunters are completely misunderstand by the Northeast liberal media establishment. But one of the obvious issues in this story beyond the gun safety component (and one that no prominent Republican or conservative is inclined to bring up), is the inappropriateness of the veep pursuing the "gentleman" hunting habit on our dime. Traveling with his mini-hospital, handlers, secret service detail, etc. Responsible men, in Montana or otherwise, who have a respect for limited government and the Constitution and our pocketbooks and wallets, couldn't hunt with a taxpayer-funded entourage.
Updt. 107: John N. has started a blog and writes about his trip to a purty part of Colorado.
Sandra D., my 1L classmate, gave birth to Grant Kenneth, a nice-sized bambino.
The forthright Konk blogs about the Olympics and isn't impressed with the prima donna attitude of the speed skaters or the cha-chas of the ice dancers.
Updt. 108: Fellow counted cross-stitchers: Closeout sale on a variety of kits at Herrschners.
Updt. 109: Duke's basketball scoring machine - J.J. Redick - who is poised to become (next game, probably) the all-time leading scorer in the Atlantic Coast Conference and is an All-American and National Player of the Year, has a homeschooling background. HT: The mad scientist.
