Specter Sport

Frank Golubski aptly comments on this peculiar business of watching social conservatives (friends of mine included) launch a campaign against the not-so-right-wing Arlen. (But didn't Specter vote to confirm conservative Chief Justice Rehnquist, as well as Scalia and Thomas? Didn't he also support Bush judicial nominees Charles Pickering and Priscilla Owen? Thought so.)

Writes Frank: "You'll excuse me if I just can't get motivated to help kill Specter's bid for the Judiciary Committee Chairmanship. Mr. Bush helped Specter beat Toomey — if he doesn't want Specter as Judiciary Committee Chairman, let him 'contact the Republican Senators on the Judiciary Committee.' "

The President could also contact Rick Santorum* while he's working those phones.
