The Homeschooling Revolution

November 01, 2004

Get Real

The operator of Homeschool and Other Education Stuff found a couple of howlers.

Snippet one: "Pray to God to heal our nation. There is no reason why mothers should have to do home schooling. Do your part to help put creationism back into our school classrooms."

Lazy statist.

Snippet two: "The next president will likely nominate two or three new Supreme Court Justices, and will almost certainly appoint the next Chief Justice. This will have a profound (even perhaps a deciding) effect upon abortion-on-demand, homosexual 'marriage,' school choice (i. e., the 'legality' of school vouchers and of home schools) ... "

Darrel Dow's reaction to that type of reasoning: "Nonetheless, Buchanan argues that Bush will select better judges and has conservative instincts on 'values' issues. Considering that Republican presidents have appointed 10 of the last 12 Supreme Court justices, and given Bush's history in Texas, Buchanan's argument is spurious at best."
