Members of the Connecticut Homeschool Network have wonderful news:
"Our son, Nicholas Marcucci, won the New Haven Register spelling bee. It was held, March 18th at Southern Connecticut State College. He competed against twenty-three other students in grades five to eight. He represented the Tri-County Homeschoolers whose spelling bee was held in Middlebury on January 24th.
Nicholas is thirteen years old, is in seventh grade, and has been homeschooled all his life. His winning word was 'mercurial.'
He will progress on to the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C. It takes place from May 30th to June 4th.
Thank you to everyone who remembered him in their prayers. We are very excited."
