The Homeschooling Revolution

April 22, 2004

Couldn't Have Said It Any Better

An elementary report about homeschooling in Maine.

One gem, though. Colleen Prescott, a mum of four, succinctly expresses one of the very best reasons on earth to teach thine own:

"These are our golden years with the kids," she said. "If we have the ability to have them around us, why send them off for eight hours a day?"

Update: An article, of the same type, about homeschooling in Oregon also has nifty comments by parents and children about how homeschooling helps them bond.

From the Springfield News: "The children also love the time with their mother. '(Mom) doesn't have to leave me,' Eden said." Yes!
